Comprehensive Sunday Report
LOL DONKAMENTS
I doubt this is even worth posting, but it’s late and I’m bored.
I took 6th tonight in UB’s 30k $120+9 Bounty tournament for $1,650. UB has recently lowered some of their guarantee’s in response to Neteller shutting down to US customers.
I’m not too worried about the situation. More payment processors will come. Online poker is a multi-billion dollar industry and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Several sites have already created new methods to deposit and withdrawl.
On a positive note, Full Tilt Poker has recently started hosting rebuy tournaments. I’m very excited about this. They also have announced, yet another online series.
I’m looking forward to this Sunday. I haven’t been able to play all the majors in awhile, and it’s something I’m looking forward to.
My flights from Melbourne to LA to Phoenix to Cleveland had me landing today, around 7pm local time. It feels pretty good to be home after such a long trip.
While in Melbourne I ordered a new toy for myself, a new desktop computer. It won’t arrive for a few more days, but I’m pretty excited for it. I basically went to Dell’s website, picked out a model, and maxed out the spec’s. I also purchased an additional 20in monitor, with intent of buying the 30in to go with my 2x 20′s. I’m essentially laying the stepping stones to possess my dream setup, which is based on 1C5′s:
Besides having fun with my new computer, I really don’t have anything planned until March. I may visit my friend Andy Webster, who lives in Tennessee next month, but that’s tentative for now. I suppose I’ll have to decide which EPT’s I’ll be attending, but I have all of February to figure that out.
I’m pretty exhausted from all the traveling, and that’s all I have for now.
Congratulations to my friend, Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke on his recent 2nd place finish in the Aussie Millions Main Event! Gobbo ended up losing heads up to Gus Hansen, after several hours of heads up play. 2nd place paid out $1million AUD. Well done sir!
Watching gobbo get paid was one of the most baller things I’ve ever seen. Aaron, Cameron, gobbo and I were all eating lunch when the Crown Casino Representatives met up with us. They went on to pay for our meal, and then took us to the cage where Jimmy wired over his funds. They showed us the $1million plaque, which looked quite sexy. Afterwards they upgraded us to a nicer room.
Now that the tournament is done with, I’ve finally got some time to check out the city. The nightly online tourneys are at noon for us, so we’ve found ourselves playing them a few times. Today I ended up winning the UB 30r for 5.4k. I got heads up with my friend, SirWatts. The difference between 1st and 2nd was only $2.2k, so we flipped for it and I won. If the difference between 1st and 2nd is insignificant enough for me to flip for it, I wonder why I even play the tournament…..oh well. I can’t really remember the last time I won a NLH tournament, so this felt good.
I think that’s all I’ve got for now. Still just hangin out in Melbourne, eating good food, and seeing cool things.
Cya.
My first run deep in a 10k event ended early on Day 3
The summaray I posted on 2+2 is below:
“I get to the table and don’t play for an orbit and a half. Open up vs. the SB to 21000 (3.5x at 3k/6k/1k, he makes it like 60k and I fold.
Orbit later, I open from the CO with 44, same guy (guy to my left) reraises me – I fold.
One and a half orbits later, I open UTG with 88, same guy makes it 50k – I fold.
Next time I’m in the SB, I limp in with K7, he makes it 25k more, I make it 85k, he folds.
OMG a pot.
Same orbit, I open in MP with AQ, Wasicka calls from the SB.
Flop is 5d6d8c
He donk-bets the same amount I raised pf (16.5k) and I fold telling him “nice set”. He tables 66.
After raise/folding and just not winning a pot for 7-8 orbits, I’m down to about 225k when my busto hand comes.
I open from the HJ with AQo to 16.5k, same guy reraises me to 50k. Either he heard somewhere that I’m crazy, or is actually just picking up hands.
After I made the bet, he counted out 16.5k and almost set it down on the felt (called) before he went back to his stack to count out a raise. I took this as a sign of him having some sort of pair thinking “I normally call, but this idiot folds everytime”, plus there’s already a lot in the middle (17k before cards are dealt). Anyways, he made it 50k, I jam for 225k total, he calls.
AQ < AK
Overall I’m very satisfied with my decision making throughout this trip, and aren’t as upset as I think I would be from busting out. In the end, it’s just another tournament. Getting deep was incredibly fun, and I’m very excited for the upcoming EPTs in March.
I’m far too tired to post anything specific, but I just advanced to Day 3 of the Aussie Millions Main Event. Gobbo has also made it with 500k+, what a sicko.
My stack going into tomorrow is 310k, which puts me around the top 15 in chips – with 180k being average.
