Home from Vegas

Posted by Adam Junglen

Just making a quick post to let everyone know I’m home from Las Vegas. The entire Vancouver/Vegas trip was a great time.

Next up on the schedule is the Heartland Poker Tour tournaments at Turning Stone. I’m really looking forward to going to TS after missing last month’s series.

After TS I’ll be heading back to Vegas. The WSOP will be going on, and although I can’t play, it’ll be a great time to hang out with all of my friends.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading.

Off to Vegas

Posted by Adam Junglen

Well, my trip to Vancouver is coming to a close. I’ll be flying out of Vancouver International around 7pm and landing in Las Vegas around 10pm.

My luck in the $2.5k NLH tourney was kind of rough. I ended up building my starting stack (15k) to 50k, but busted out during last level of the day – which seems to be a trend of mine.

This week has been a lot of fun, and I’m really looking forward to Vegas. Afterwards I might fly to LA for a couple days to visit a friend.

Final Table, Eh?

Posted by Adam Junglen

I guess if you know me well, you know how badly I want to win a live event. Even these smaller $1k events I’m playing at the River Rock right now would suffice. Anyways, yesterday in the $1k 6-max NLH I managed to build my starting stack (6k) to around 65k before stacking off on a failed semi-bluff. Big congrats to Jeff, who ended up winning it for $84k.

Today I ended up getting 5th in the $1k PLH event for about $15k. Pretty irritating, but I thought I played well. The structure was very poor at the end, with less than 30bbs in play 5 handed.

I’m not sure if I’ll be playing the PLO tournament tomorrow. I’m pretty exhausted from the last 3 days. I’ve gone semi-deep in all of the tournaments so far, and a break before the main event would be nice.

That’s all for now

River Rock Casino

I’ve been hanging out at the River Rock the last few days. I’m pretty impressed so far by the service and accommodations. We’re staying in a 2 bedroom suite, which is huge. 2 bedrooms with TV’s, bathroom, and a big living room with a TV. It reminds me of the lodge at TS, except bigger.

I played the first $550 tournament today, but busted out shortly after the dinner break. Tomorrow’s the $1k shorthanded event, which should be a lot of fun. The tournaments seem to be ran fairly well, and I’ve heard all the cash games are relatively soft.

Guess that’s it for now, more updates later.

Passing Time

Posted by Adam Junglen

Right now I’m passing some time in O’Hare Airport. I’m on a layover here, waiting for my flight to Vancouver.

Last night I played a few tournaments and won the FTP $30r, with relative ease. Although I haven’t put in a lot of volume lately, my results have been solid. I’m on a nice streak of closing tournaments, winning my last 3 final tables.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading.

Off to Vancouver

Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be flying to the River Rock Casino in Vancouver, British Columbia. I’ll be playing most (if not all) of the Johnny Chan Poker Classic tournaments.

I’ve said it before, but I’m really looking forward to playing some more live tournaments. I really like my chances of going deep and am currently really motivated to succeed. Plus, it’ll be really nice to see some of my friends again. I’m rooming with gobbo, mlagoo, and Thayer.

George Carlin is performing while we’re there, so I think we’re gonna get a group together to watch him perform. I’ve never seen a live comedian before, so I’m looking forward to that. We’ll also probably see Spiderman 3 while we’re there.

After BC I’m going to visit my friends Aaron and Kush in Vegas. They recently rented a really nice place on the strip. I’m really looking forward to hanging out with them for a few days.

I don’t know the exact date I’ll be home yet, but it’ll probably be in late May. I’ve learned to stop booking round-trip’s, because I’ve wasted so much money on skipping my return flight home. I’ve probably dumped over a grand on missing return flights due to changing plans. Lesson learned – one way for the win.

That’s all for now. Hopefully I’ll have some good news from BC.
