Home for a bit

Posted by Adam Junglen

I got home from Turning Stone on Monday night. It was a fun trip, despite not making the ante levels. This is the first time I’ve gotten home from TS without any foreseeable reason to go back. Sorta feels like graduating, for more than one reason. Grats to Justin Schwartz, aka stealthmunk on winning more than anyone else in the $5k (there was a 4 way chop). Justin rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but we’ve always gotten along. Good to see him do well.

It’s nice to be home, although I won’t be here for long. This time of the year sorta feels weird for me. Many of my friends head back to school while I catch flights across Europe and play in really juicy tournaments. This will be my third year out of HS and third year of flying to EPT’s in the fall. The time went by pretty fast, and I’d like to think I’ve used it well. The thought of college pop’s in my head now and again, and I’m not against the idea of taking classes. Just not this year.

Ray informed me a few weeks ago that he’s going to be moving back home. His dad is having some health issues, and he’s 83 years old. It’s a rough situation, but he should definitely be home with his dad. I wish them both the best of luck. It was good to get some experience living with someone, especially another poker player. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing when my lease ends here, but I’m considering moving. It shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out where….

Livin Well

Life is good. I caught my flight from Cleveland to Syracuse and arrived at Turning Stone yesterday. This trip has a nice feel to it since it only took about 1/3rd of the usual travel time. It’s tough to believe this is the third year I’ve came up for August series. Basically been up here every single year I’ve been eligible (>18). The $1k is tomorrow and the $5k is on the 23rd.

I’ve just been hangin out with Gobbo, who I hadn’t seen since Australia, as well as Randal and Shaun. I’m not used to rooming alone, but on a trip like this, I don’t mind it at all. It’s actually nice not to have to worry about making too big of a mess/getting kick out (ie: last August), or Jeff putting a hole in the wall, etc.

Third Time Going

Posted by Adam Junglen

I just found a nice lil nonstop flight from Cleveland to Syracuse, round trip for $230 – so I’m going to Turning Stone to play the $1k and $5k in their Empire State tournament series. I’ll be slightly more enthusiastic about this trip, simply because I won’t have to deal with driving. It’s the little things that make me happy. The $5k should be a good challenge, it’s one of the tougher fields for a live tournament. Factors include: No TV incentive, not too many satellite winners, big buy-in, 18+, and nothing else going on. I’m sure there’s a few others I’m forgetting.

Pokerstars announced they will be holding a £20,000 + £300 buyin “High Rollers” event at EPT London from Oct 5th-6th. EPT London runs from Oct 1st-5th, so ideally I’ll be at the final table of the EPT London Main Event on Oct 5th, but if worse comes to worse, I’ll be playing in the $40k.

After EPT Barcelona I’m flying to my friend Tommy’s in Malta and hanging out and playing WCOOP tournaments. It’ll be nice to have a place with reliable internet during the WCOOP. Hopefully I’ll be on my A-game (or better yet, have won something) by the time I fly back to London for £40,000+ in tournaments in a 10 day span.

Still a bit of poker to play before all of this, FTOPS starts tomorrow on Full Tit, and this Sunday is pretty big as well.
