Afterthoughts

Posted by Adam Junglen

Well, I’m happy and back home at my apartment in Ohio. I was in Europe for just under a month, and it really feels good to be back. Once I got home I really came to realize how much I needed the time off before Niagara. If the EPT/WSOPE schedules are the same as next year, I’ll probably only go for WSOPE/EPT London. Gonna try to aim for just 2 weeks (in Europe) next time.

All that being said, despite departing a little early, this was a great trip for me. Over the summer I had a crappy attitude towards poker. My main goals until I turned 21 were to win a Sunday Major and win major live televised tournament. Well, just because I managed to win an online major and FT an EPT doesn’t mean there isn’t more money to be made. Don’t get me wrong, I had other work to do, and am glad I spent some time with my local friends, but I still should’ve cared/played more.

I kept telling myself I’d just wait until September and crush EPT Barcelona and WSOPE. I realize now that hyping myself up for these tournaments isn’t a good idea, I answered a question about this in a recent PokerNewsDaily interview.

Anyways, despite running worse than I ever have at a final table, it felt great to really bring my best game to the table for all 3 days of the ₤1,500 event. Getting so close only makes me hungrier for a win, and with my improved and more mature attitude towards poker, I feel as though I have a lot of momentum and confidence as WPT Niagara and my 21st birthday approach us.
